well i made it thru fridays heat in first place only to choke today and missed making it by one place. i guess im starting to figure out the game though. yesterday i rode just ok and fell in the middle of my second pass and still placed first, so there is obviously room for improvement on my end. check this out, this was on the “prowakeboardtour.com“s web site. you dont see this very often.
i was up at ft. benning, ga. not to long ago to watch some buddies of mine kick some ass at the 2009 armys best ranger contest. if you have ever watched the military channel you have most likely seen an episode from previous years and you know how unbelievably grueling the event is for the competitors. imagine keeping your heart rate over 120 for a solid 3 days and thats about what these guys went thru. they basically dont get any sleep for 3 days straight. the event began at 530AM on friday and ended on sunday at about 1800 (thats military time for 6pm!) i was able to capture some of the events but not all of them on my camera, unfortunately some of the video i took my not be lyrically appropriate so i will have to find a way to sensor it. but it is amazing how frickin kick ass these 2 bad asses are.
both walt and dan have actually won a best ranger before, but with different teammates. so for this year they came together to try and do something that has never been done before, they would be the first team EVER to have 2 repeat best ranger winners. however they barely fell short of that and ended in second place over the home team, the 6th ranger training brigade who is from and stationed at ft. benning. so they knew the terrain and had the home field advantage, not to discredit them because for them to beat my boys even with their home field advantage is a feat in itself. they proved themselves to be extremely tough competitors, so everyones hats were off to those 2 young kids.
here are some photos of walt and dan.
